my dad poured me a glass of wine the other day. i almost enjoyed it and now my mom is happy because i might be on my way to becoming her new wine drinking buddy. so, i took it upstairs to dinner and when cassie, my favorite ten year old, offered to get me a glass of pepsi, i said no.
cassie: why not?
taryn: i'm okay having wine.
cassie: oh no. ohhh no.
taryn: what?
cassie (whispering): you're turning into an adult.
